Strickland Oil Company was founded in 1954 by T.C. Strickland,
a railroad engineer by profession who started the company to provide a
second income for his wife and children, Marvin and Tom, who were also
involved in operating th business.
Strickland acquired a Texaco consigneeship in 1969, and 10 years later
the became a Texaco jobber. Strickland rebranded to Shell in 2002.
In 1996, Marvin Strickland purchased the business from his parents
and now operates it along with his wife, Gail, and sons Kent
and Lee and daughter Shay.
In addition to residential accounts, Strickland Oil delivers motor fuels,
lubes, and heating fuels to convience sites, railroads, government facilities,
marinas and commercial fishing boats. The company is also United States
Coast Guard certified to operate a mobile fuel facilitiy capable of pumping
